During my internship, I really appreciated the freedom and responsibility I was getting at Tembo. I was never treated like an intern, but always like a colleague. They trusted me with the work that I was doing and gave me the opportunity to improve myself and learn a lot in the process.
Involvement
I am proud to have been working for Tembo. I wrote content for the website such as news articles, history and sustainable projects, interviewed some of our employees for our career website and I was responsible for the internal communication. Working at the marketing department means communication with the other departments and because of this I was involved in many different projects.
Self-improvement
When I entered the company, there were a lot of things that I was responsible for and I tried to do as much as I could. Because of that I was able to improve myself and learn things I didn’t think I would ever be involved with. Week by week, I tried to develop myself and my colleagues gave me opportunities by involving me in nearly everything they were working on.
Introduction programme
Tembo has set up an introduction programme for their trainees since last year. On the first day they arranged a kick-off and we were welcomed as a group. We also visited different locations in the Netherlands like de Eenhoorn, EME Engel and Tricas. It was fun to get to know the other interns, and the different activities and company visits really helped me to gain an insight into different companies that are part of the Tembo group. It was amazing to see how these companies reinforce each other.
