I started working at Tembo in 2014. When I started my job, I noticed that the working environment is very informal. Everyone at the IT department gets lots of freedom. Our goal is to use that freedom to support all our companies as much as possible with optimal digital structures.
Dynamic environment
The best thing about working here is the diversity and dynamics that working in an international organization entails. I am in contact with international colleagues, customers and suppliers. For instance, when a new company joins our group, we have to find a way to adapt their IT systems into the general processes and systems Tembo uses. It is important to be flexible. Every day is different and I still learn every day.
More than colleagues
At our department, we communicate in a very directive way. We find it important to be more than just colleagues and maintain this, since we work so closely together. Now and then we try to find time together outside working hours to catch a BBQ, have a drink or pick a motorbike route. Sometimes we toss a ball around together in the office. Especially when we are on pressure it helps to break the ice and loosen the tension.
Success as a choice
What I like about the company is that they support everybody to innovate. Working at Tembo might be considered as a choice to define your own successfulness. There are many possibilities to develop yourself and to excel, but you have to seize the opportunity.
